Who we are
Plumbers Speers Point is the licensed local plumbing crew for Speers Point and the streets around the lake's northern shore. No showroom, no front desk, just plumbers who work this side of Lake Macquarie every week.
The suburb packs around 3,400 people into just over three square kilometres, so the same streets come up on the phone again and again. That suits us fine. Repeat work is how a plumbing run should be built.
What we actually do
The full trade, on a residential scale mostly, with commercial jobs mixed in:
- Blocked drains, sewer and stormwater work, including CCTV inspection and jetting
- Hot water systems, from repairs through to full replacement
- General repairs, renovations, gas fitting, leak detection and appliance installs
If a job is licensed plumbing work in NSW, it is on the list. If it needs another trade entirely, we will say so rather than muck you around.
Why this suburb keeps us busy
Speers Point was settled back in the 1870s, and much of the housing went up between the 1940s and the 2000s. Older fibro and weatherboard cottages near the foreshore sit alongside post-war brick veneer and newer infill units.
Each era brings its own pipework problems:
- Corroding galvanised supply lines in the pre-1970s cottages
- Clay drainage joints letting roots in under the leafy older streets
- Hot water units reaching end of life together, because the housing boom that built them happened all at once too
Around 80% of homes here are separate houses at the last census, and most are owner-occupied. People in that position tend to fix things properly once rather than patch them twice, which is exactly how we like to work.
